ARANYANI'S GARDEN In Hindu mythology Aranyani is an elusive forest deity, hiding in secret nooks of the jungle and fearless in her exploration of new places. She's a wanderer, happy to be alone and occupied with the business of feeding humans and animals by making sure the forest is nurtured and protected. The paintings in this series relate to my own experiences in the forest and with its organic life. The botanical forms, although mostly from imagination, derive from mindful interactions with the elements and objects that make up the natural world. They sprout from both sensory and dream influences, where memory becomes the connecting link.
